Blazon: I blått seks gull nagler i rosett. In English: Azure six nails or in annulo.
Approved by the royal resolution of 9 February 1990, after a drawing by Arvid Sveen.

The design shows six gold nails or rivets representing the boat building industry in the municipality. Number six was chosen to represent 6 school districts, 6 originally inhabited islands, 6 fjords areas etc.
