About the flag

Osterøy municipality is situated in Hordaland county.

The flag of Osterøy consists of three blue axes pointing downwards on a field of white, with two axes at the top and one beneath. As a tool used by craftsmen, the axes represent the historic importance of the building trade in the community. Building craftsmen from Osterøy have been known for their solid work throughout the county. The flag was approved by Royal resolution of 20 December 1985. The artist was Egil Korsnes who based his design on the idea of Magnus Hardeland.

The flag of Osterøy is already presented, so here is coat of arms (and better flag I think). Administrative center is Lonevåg.

Coat of Arms

[COA of Nord-Aurdal] image by Tomislav Šipek, 13 January 2016

Official blazon in Norwegian: "I kvitt tre blå økser med blada ned, 2-1."

I sølv tre blå økser med blada ned, 2 - 1. In English: Argent three axes [fesswise] azure blades to the base, 2-1.
(I added fesswise as I feel that without it the blazon is ambiguous - I would not know how to draw it... I also add two-to-one description, which is usually omitted from English blazons "as a default", as one may tend to position axes different otherwise... )
The rest we have already up there :) but here is also a link to the municipal web site regarding the arms.
