Coat of Arms

[COA of Gol]image by Tomislav Šipek, 14 January 2016

Blazon: På gull grunn tre opprette svarte lyklar med skjegget ned, to over ein. In English: Or three key sable palewise, two and one, wards to the base sinister.
Apprvoed by the royal resolution of 13 September 1985 after a drawing by Stein Davidsen.
Regulations refer to the Davidsen's drawing for the design that would, I guess, include the exact flag dimensions - otherwise not specifically mentioned in the regulations. The banner for may have any length, though.
There is a nice English article on the history of the Gol coat of arms. Copying from there on the key design: "it is the key from the old Gol Stave Church (the original local church, which today is situated at Norsk Folkemuseum at Bygdøy, Oslo) which has been used as a pattern. The original key, which was kept after the church was dismantled and moved at the end of the 19th century, is today in a private, local ownership here in Gol."
