Blazon: I rødt en gull liljekonvall. In English: Gules a lily of the valley or.
Approved by the royal resolution of 4 April 1986 after a drawing by Kari Ruud Flem. [c2j87]
The design symbolises the woods and springtime in them. The eight flowers stand for the 8 school districts in the municipality. [c2j87] mention that lilly of the valley was already used in the Middle Ages as a heraldic charge, giving example of Stake family of Dalsland in Sweden and their early 16th century arms. As a modern example I can add Maruševec in Croatia.
