Blazon: I grønt fire sølv firblad, 1-2-1. In English: Vert four quatrefoils
argent in cross.
Approved by the royal resolution fo 12 December 1986, redrawn by Truls Nygaard
after the idea by Anne-Lise Knoff.
The [c2j87] recounts the origin of quatrefoils
are the frescoes from the Enebakk church from 17th century, although those in
the arms are more heraldically dpeicted. Four of them were chosen to represent
the ancient four quarter of the town, confirmed in sources in around year 1400,
but probably even older, retained in the names until present days.
According to
http://www.enebakk.kommune.no/modules/article.aspx?ObjectType=Article&Article.ID=638&Category.ID=720
the flowers represented are of the species Paris Quadrifolia (English name seems
to be herb paris or true lover’s knot), usual in the region. Also, the old
quarters are now only three in the municipality: Flateby, Kirkebygda and Ytre
Enebakk. The fourth, Dalefjerdingen is since 2005 part of Kirkebygda.
