The flag

Pieter Hendrik van Abshoven, born in Delft in 1857, was a Dutch entrepreneur who lived in Vlaardingen where he was involved in the fish trade. He also owned several wooden sailing fishing vessels with names like Flevo I (VL 73) Flevo II (VL 131) and Flevo III (VL 132). This explains the house flag of the company. Van Abshoven died in 1911. His family continued the fishing activities until 1958 when the last ship was sold to another company.
