Warstiens village
Warstiens, village in Boarnsterhim municipality, Fryslân; it used
to be in the former municipality of Idaarderadeel; it has a church without
any architectonical value, and (1958) 68 inhabitants; 1973: 29 (last count
in Eagum was 26!)
Nickname: Einekuorren (duck cages), used and made in Warstiens.
Warstiens: coat of arms: in blue in silver fess, with on top and below a golden
cloverleaf.
There was no indication for former arms, so the colors of the former
municipality of Idaarderadeel were adopted; the fess divides the shield
in two parts and represent the rivulet the Langdiel, which cuts the village
in two. The clover is for the agricultural character of the community.
Flag: two stripes of blue and white, proportioned 2:1; in the blue
stripe a yellow cloverleaf.
