The town emblem was adopted on Oct 1st 1948 but there is no flag law. The purple flag has a white town emblem in the center. The town emblem is nine stylized katakana マ Ma and hiragana の No of kuMaNo in a form of a triangle in the center. it represents a basin of a highland surrounded by mountains.
