The Flag

The flag of the city of Shinjo is purple with mark.

The city emblem was adopted in May 1949 but there is no flag law. The purple flag has a white city emblem in the center. The city emblem is a stylized kanji 新 Shin of Shinjo in a snow crystal. It represents that the city is famous for heavy snow fall.
