The municipality of Badrud (14,273 inhabitants in 2016) is located 25 km north of Natanz, 70 km east of Kashan and 35 km of Abyaneh. According to archeological excavations made on the site of Siah Boom (Arisman), the town dates back to 7,000 years; it was established by the first craftsmen in Iran central desert, who invented the smelting furnace to make copper and bronze tools.
Badrud is known as Pomegranate Town.

The logo features the Aqa Ali Abbas and Shahzade Mohamed mausoleum, located 10 km of the town and the most important place of pilgrimage in the region. The building's dome, of 44 m in height, is among the largest domes in Iran; it is ornamented with tile works, mirror works, plaster works and Likhanid seven-colored tiles.
