Overview

Táp is a village in Győr-Moson-Sopron County in Hungary near to City of Győr (19 km south). The village has got 792 inhabitants (1990 census), nearly all of them are Hungarians. Neighbouring settlements are: Mezöőrs, Nyalka, Győrasszonyfa, Tápszentmiklós and Bársonyos villages.
The first mention of the settlement is from 1237. In 1910 Táp was a village in the Pusztai district of Győr County. Number of its inhabitants in 1910: 1.332; 1.331 (99,9%) Hungarian and 1 (0,1%) other by mother tongue, 780 (58,6%) Calvinist, 511 (384%) Roman Catholic, 24 (1,8%) Jew and 17 (1,3%) other by religion.
The image of the flag is not entirely correct since the 'Réde-style' inscription 'TÁP' under the shield.is missing.
