The designer of this flag is Željko Heimer. He is also the designer of the flags of the same municipality from 2018, but this variant was not approved by the Ministry of Administration, and a new solution was made, which is used today.

Flag of Promina

The flag is in proportions 1:2, dark blue with the municipal coat of arms, bordered in white, in the center. Blue symbolizes heaven and faith in God's help, as well as trust in the intercession of the Blessed Virgin and St. Michael, Promina's patron saints.

Coat of arms of Promina

The coat of arms is "Argent a hat gules in chief a bunch of grapes azure leaved vert."
The background argent represents the karst region and Mt. Promina, as well as the spiritual and material resources of valuable people. The Promina hat, locally called "fes", is the most distinctive symbol of the tradition and cultural heritage of the Promina region. Although similar headgear has been used in the wider region, the Promina fes has some characteristic features. The grapes are a symbol of the centuries-old dedication of generations of Promina people to agriculture, and also a symbol of all the natural resources of Promina.
The red and white from the coat of arms together with the blue field of the flag also make up the Croatian tricolor.

Symbols of Promina - 2018 proposal

The 2018 coat of arms had a blue crossed silver wavy sword and gold overhanging a silver ball marked with a red cross, while the flag was red with the coat of arms in the middle. I never noticed that the flag itself was used, while the coat of arms was still used during that year.
