Flag of Prelog

The symbols of Prelog are prescribed by Decisions Odluka o zastavi Općine Prelog (flag) and Odluka o grbu Općine Prelog (coat of arms), both adopted on 6 June 1995 by the Municipality Assembly and published on 3 November 1995 in the County official gazette Službeni glasnik Županije Međimurske, No. 4.
The symbols were approved on 20 October 1995 by the Ministry of Administration.

The flag is described as follows:

The flag of the municipality is rectangular in shape, in proportions 1:2.
The flag is set horizontally. The flag is blue, and the coat of arms of the Municipality of Prelog is set in the corner of the flag next to the hoist, edged with a yellow stripe.
The colors of the flag are identical to those determined by the Regulations on standardization of the coat of arms and flag.
A copy of the special document depicting the flag and an original of the flag are preserved in the archives.

Former coat of arms of Prelog

[Town coat of arms]

Former coat of arms of Prelog (drawing from a black and white depiction, colours assumed) - Image by Željko Heimer, 1 January 2014

The coat of arms used by the Local Community of Prelog, then part of the Town of Čakovec in the 1980s was basically the same historical coat of arms in a semi-cricular shield, depicting a white masoned tower issuing from a masoned wall between two yellow mullets. My drawing from a black and white depiction, colours assumed. As with majority of other municipal symbols from the period, flag would not have been made.
