The symbols of Goričan are prescribed by Decision Odluka o grbu i zastavi Općine Goričan, adopted on 3 February 2006 by the Municipality Assembly and published on 4 February 2006 in the County official gazette Službeni glasnik Međimurske županije, No. 1.

The symbols were designed by the Heraldic Art d.o.o. company, from Rijeka.

The flag is in proportions 1:2, light blue with the coat of arms, bordered yellow, in the middle.

The coat of arms is "Gules a mount issuant from the base vert and in the chief argent three forget-me-not azure seeded or".
The arms are canting: the place name suggests it to be on a higher ground, here a hill.

A map (photo, photo, photo, photo) located in the Međimurje County Hall shows the coat of arms of some municipalities, all of them adopted before 2004. The coat of arms labelled "Goričan" (photo) is "Gules a bend argent overall a cinquefoil azure seeded of the second".
The status of this coat of arms is unknown. The news article reporting the adoption of the current symbols (Uskoro grb i zastava, Međimurske novine, No. 2,650, 7 February 2006), reported, among others, that the procedure of adoption of the municipal symbols had started in 2000, but that "nothing has actually been done about it" until the time of the report. It would imply that this early coat of arms or proposal was not known to the reporter covering the municipal news.
