The municipality of Roissy-en-France (colloquially simply called Roissy; 2,738 inhabitants; 1,409 ha) is a commune in the northeastern suburbs of Paris, in the Val-d'Oise department.
One-quarter of Charles de Gaulle Airport (France's main airport) is located in the commune of Roissy-en-France, which gave its original name to the airport. Later renamed, the airport is still commonly referred to as Roissy Airport in France. The rest of the airport lies on the territory of the commune of Tremblay-en-France and several other communes. In the name Roissy-en-France, 'France' does not refer not to the country of France but to an area of the historical province of Île-de-France, the plaine de France.

The flag of Roissy-en-France is vertically divided blue and red with the coat of arms fimbriated in gold in the center of the flag: photo (2019).
The coat of arms, adopted in 1965, is blazoned:
Argent four fesses dancetty Gules, debruised by a bend Azure semy de lis Or.
According to the work of Étienne Pattou, these coats of arms would
have been born from the marriage in 1552, of Henri de Mesmes, lord of
Roissy and Malassise, master of requests and Chancellor of the Kingdom
of Navarre, civil lieutenant and deputy of Paris, with Jeanne
Hennequin, daughter of Oudard IV Hennequin, descendant of the Gentien
d'Erigné family. The azure bend with fleur-de-lys was granted by King
Philippe IV, in memory of the service rendered at the battle of
Mons-en-Pévèle in 1304, by two cousins, Jacques and Pierre Gentien.
