The department of Aube adopted a new logo in 2021. According to the communication agency Graphéine (source):
"In 2019, Graphéine was chosen to create the new graphic charter for the Aube Department. The challenge was to give the visual identity a facelift and rigorously define the rules so that they were controlled, consistent and in line with the Department's values. The department wanted to create a "brand", a specific graphic style to identify all of their communication media. The graphic charter had aged and no longer allowed the department's values to be conveyed: accessibility, modernity, humanity.
The department's logo was created in 1988 by Michel Rohmer, at the same time as that of the City of Troyes, the department's capital. These two identities have a strong parentage: a typographic block composed of a red and silver A oriflamme. The oriflamme is the common point of the two logotypes. It also continues to affirm the belonging of Aube to the historic and wine-growing Champagne - relying on this world-famous region to establish the reputation of the territory. Both logos display the same stylized "unifying flag", formed of a pole and a standard of three undulating flames - symbol of the cohesion of the two communities: City of Troyes and Department of Aube. This common identity has been very successful within the department where the oriflamme has been declined and interpreted by many institutional actors, organizations and associations.
We wanted to give a central place to this "oriflamme A" emblem in the new graphic charter. To do this, our first intervention focused on correcting the design of the logotype. The quality of the latter deserved some adjustments. First, we rationalized the design of the A which was previously mirrored. The oriflamme has been re-proportioned and greased to give more impact to the word “Aube”. In order to allow for a transversal and simplified use on all formats, the block has been recomposed in a more compact way."
The new font of the logo is Durnial.
The logo is ruby: #BF0D3E, Pantone 193C, RVB 191-13-62, CMJN 2-99-62-11.
The flag is white with logo: photo (2024), photo (2024), photo (2022).

The Departmental Council uses a white flag with its logo (photo).
The logo is a standard, as a symbol of the department's cohesion and unity.
The origin logo was designed in 1988 by Michel Rohmer, who also created
the related logo of the town of Troyes.
The logo features the stylized "federative flag", composed of a staff
and a standard made of three wavy pennants. This is a symbol of the
cohesion of the two collectivities: the town of Troyes and the
department of Aube.
In the 1990s, the logos of the department of Aube and of the town of
Troyes evolved. The writing was simplified and the size was decreased to
make use and memorization easier:
- the height of the staff, formed by the left part of letter "A" (or
"T"), was reduced;
- the writings "département de" and "ville de" were suppressed, leaving
only "Troyes" and "Aube Conseil général", respectively;
- the logo "Aube en Champagne" was created by the Euro Rscg-Reims agency
for the external, institutional communication of the department.
In 2015, the writing was changed to "Aube en Champagne / Le Département":
- to highlight the location of the department in Champagne, a
world-famous "brand";
- to emphasize the strong anchorage of the department, a local
collectiviety more than ever be required at the time of the "big regions".
