Presentation of Serranillos del Valle

The municipality of Serranillos del Valle (until 1919, Serranillos; 3,957 inhabitants in 2014; 1,328 ha; municipal website) is located in the south of the Community of Madrid, on the border with Castilla-La Mancha (Province of Toledo), 30 km of Madrid.
Serranillos was established in the early 12th century as a group of huts erected by shepherds. The colonists probably came from the region of Segovia, where toponyms like Serranillos, Serrano or Serranillo are quite common.
