Symbols of Torrejoncillo del Rey

The flag of Torrejoncillo del Rey is prescribed by an Order issued on 13 December 1995 by the Government of Castilla-La Mancha and published on 29 December 1995 in the official gazette of Castilla-La Mancha, No. 64, pp. 6,964-6,965 (text).
The flag is described as follows:

Flag: Rectangular, in proportions 2:3, composed of two triangles formed by a diagonal running from the hoist's lower angle to the fly's upper angle, the triangle at hoist white with a red tower, the triangle at fly, red with a white Royal crown orled by six white circles.

The coat of arms of Torrejoncillo del Rey is prescribed by an Order issued on 13 December 1995 by the Government of Castilla-La Mancha and published on 29 December 1995 in the official gazette of Castilla-La Mancha, No. 64, p. 6,964 (text).
The coat of arms is described as follows:

Coat of arms: Per pale, 1. Argent a tower gules, 2. Gules a Royal crown closed argent orled by sixteen roundels of the same. The shield surmounted by a Royal crown closed.

The Royal Academy suggested minor modifications to the proposed arms. There is no doubt that the name of the municipality is very adequately represented by a tower (torre) and a Royal crown. The 16 besants represent the 18 nuclei forming the municipality. On the drawing, however, the tower is represented as a castle. The crown closed is not adequate here, and should be substituted by the crown ancient, with triangular florets.
The Academy rejected the proposed flag, which reproduces the arms in a different arrangement, according to an "awkward and unnecessary" diagonal division. The flag should be vertically divided, at hoist, white with a red tower, at fly, red with a crown ancient surrounded by 16 white circles.
