The flag of Laroya, adopted on 29 June 2011 by the Municipal Council and submitted on 13 July 2011 to the Directorate General of the Local Administration, is prescribed by a Decree adopted on 1 September 2011 by the Directorate General of the Local Administration and published on 16 September 2011 in the official gazette of Andalusia, No. 183, p. 8 (text).
The flag is described as follows:
Flag: Rectangular panel, in proportions 3:2 (length on height), white with a red border of 2/11 of the flag's hoist. In the center of the flag is placed the municipal coat of arms, of height 2/5 of the flag's hoist.
The coat of arms of Laroya, adopted on 14 December 2006 by the Municipal Council and submitted on 21 December 2006 to the Directorate General of the Local Administration, is prescribed by a Decree adopted on 11 January 2007 by the Directorate General of the Local Administration and published on 24 January 2007 in the official gazette of Andalusia, No. 18, pp. 30-21 (text).
The coat of arms is described as follows:
Coat of arms: Gules three spikes or per fess, in chief 12 five-pointed stars of the same 6 and 6, in base mounts argent. The shield surmounted by a Royal crown closed.
The spikes recall that local agriculture is based on grain cultivation. The stars are a reference to the 12 original settlers of the place during the Reconquest. The mounts recall that Laroya is located in the Sierra de Los Filabres at an elevation of more than 800 m above the sea level.
