Symbols of Lucainena de las Torres

The flag of Lucainena de las Torres, adopted on 17 August 2002 by the Municipal Council and validated on 15 May 2003 by the Royal Academy of Cordóba, is prescribed by Decree No. 188 adopted on 24 June 2003 by the Government of Andalusia and published on 9 July 2003 in the official gazette of Andalusia, No. 130, pp. 15,407-15,408 (text). This was confirmed by a Decree adopted on 30 November 2004 by the Government of Andalusia and published on 20 December 2004 in the official gazette of Andalusia, No. 246, pp. 28,986-29,002 (text).

The flag is described as follows:

Flag: Rectangular flag [...] of length, from hoist to fly, of one and a half the width, divided in six equal parts, three at the top and three at the bottom, showing in turn a white tower on blue and white and blue waves. [...]

The coat of arms of Lucainena de las Torres, adopted on 3 August 1996 by the Municipal Council, is prescribed by Decree No. 464, adopted on 8 October 1996 by the Government of Andalusia and published on 29 October 1996 in the official gazette of Andalusia, No. 124, p. 13,881 (text). This was confirmed by a Decree adopted on 30 November 2004 by the Government of Andalusia and published on 20 December 2004 in the official gazette of Andalusia, No. 246, pp. 28,986-29,002 (text).
The coat of arms is described as follows:

Coat of arms: Per pale, 1. Azure (blue) six towers argent placed 1, 2 and 2, in chief a hammer or and a pick of the same crossed per saltire, in base waves argent and azure, 2. The Royal arms of Castle, grafted in base the Royal arms of León. The shield in modern Spanish style, surmounted with a Royal Spanish crown closed.

The towers in the first quarter recall the old name of the town, Lucainena de las Siete Torres (of the Seven Towers). The second quarter shows the arms of Castile and of León.

The coat of arms adopted on 12 May 1995 by the Municipal Council was rejected by the Royal Academy of Cordóba. The Municipal Council submitted two new proposals on 1 June 1996; the proposal recommended by the Academy, validated on 27 June 1996, was adopted on 3 August 1996 by the Municipal Council.
