Overview

The canton was formed on 13 September 1973.

The flag of Patate is divided in three symmetric stripes, yellow, white and green.
The yellow stripe represents the mining resources, its grain crops and natural resources.
The white stripe represents peace, integrity and the purity of the soil.
The green stripe represents the immense plant production in the canton.
