On 18 July 1885 five citizens of Charlottenburg established RC Charlotte, named to honour HRH Princess Heiress Charlotte of Meiningen,
who then lived in the castle of Charlottenburg.
On 5 June 1890 five young citizens established Spandauer Ruder-Club "Arminius" ,renamed 1892 to simply Spandauer Ruder-Club
On 5 July 1893 five former members of RC Titania Charlottenburg established the Charlottenburger RC 1902 (!)
On 28 December 1899 RV "Friesen" was established by 35 young gymnasts.
WW2 stopped the activities of all preceding clubs until 1944.
In 1974 Spandauer RC and RV "Friesen"merged.

It is a white flag divided by a black cotised cross with intersection point of crossbars shifted to the upper hoist, superimposed by a roundel containing the logo of Deutsche Turnerschaft.
The logo has four red "F"s forming a cross and being the abbreviation of "Frisch Fromm Fröhlich Frei".
In the upper fly are white capitals with black edges "SRCF".
In the lower fly is the image of a red masoned wall with two towers.
The wall is superimposed by a golden crowned silvery shield with a red eagle (Electorate of Brandenburg) topped by a crest.
The whole is the coat of arms of former Spandau borough.

The flag seems to be inspired by the German imperial colours.

The section joined RV "Friesen" on 22 February 1900, effectice since 1 March 1900, but went back to its parent club on 4 March 1900.
