Röttingen Coat of Arms

Shield Gules, a knight statant in clad armour Argent, on his breast a cross Gules, with his right hand holding a lance Or with a gonfanon Argent charged with a throughout cross Gules, at his left hip a targe Argent charged with a cross Gules.
Meaning:
The knight is St. George, recognisable by the three St.George's crosses. According to source in these arms he is just a symbol for a city. The arms are based on a city seal, which had basically the same pattern from the 14th to the 18th century. The pattern changed sometimes but not for better. In 1965 the original pattern was restored.
