Meaning:
Unterpeißenberg was elevated to a market town in 1919 by Minister of Interior of Bayern and on this occasion it got its current name. The black colour and the tools are symbolising black coal mining in the past. The bees are referring to the local beekeeping and the production of honey in the town. They are furthermore symbolising the diligence of the local people. The tinctures of the banner are those of the arms.
