Bad Dürrheim City Coat of Arms

Shield parted by a pallet Or, at dexter Gules a Maltese cross Argent, at sinister Azure, over three barrulets wavy Argent an 8-point star of the same.
Meaning:
Due to rule and cognisance of the Order of St. John, the reeve of the local commandery in the 18th century used a seal, only displaying the (Maltese) cross of the order. The first municipal arms showed a winged lion, perhaps the Badenian griffin, holding an inescutcheon with the Maltese cross. Details had been changed arbitrarily. Thus in 1957 new arms were devised. The pallet is representing a drilled hole for extracting natural brine. Star and barrulets are alluding to the three columns of the spa: brine, sun and mountain air.

Flag, banner and arms were approved on 7 December 1957 by Minister of Interior of Baden-Württemberg, published in GABl 109/1958.
