Ludwigsfelde Coat of Arms

Shield parted per pale of Sable and Argent, an eradicated pine in counterchanged tinctures, flanked at dexter by a cogwheel Or and at sinister by an eagle's claw Gules.
Meaning:
The pine is symbolising the woods and heathers surrounding the core of the city. The cogwheel is alluding to local industries, especially the car production of IFA. It is also reminding on the arms in times of the DDR, where the cogwheel appeared together with a motor. The claw is a differentiation of the Brandenburg arms as part of the red eagle of Brandenburg. Probably there is only a banner as source explicitly mentions the existence of a horizontal cap piece.
