Schwarzach Coat of Arms

Shield Argent parted by a fess wavy Sable, above a plough Azure, beneath a pit lamp Azure surrounded by 4-point stars of the same ordered 2:2.
Meaning:
The black fess wavy is canting and is representing the name giving creek Schwarzach, which means black creek. The plough is symbolising the rural character and agriculture as main business line. The stars are representing the former municipalities of Schwarzach, Altfalter, Weiding and Unteraubach. The pit lamp is alluding to the former depletion of fluorspar. Already in 1534 the Palatine Electors excempted a mining order for Altfalter. In nearby Wölsendorf mining flourished in the 19th and 20th century. The tinctures blue and white are those of Bayern, to which Schwarzach belonged since around 1230.
