Salching Coat of Arms

Shield parted per pale, at dexter Gules a key Argent in pale, at sinister Argent two bends Azure.
Meaning:
The key is an attribute of St. Peter, the local patron saint. It appeared also in the arms of the abbeys in St. Emmeram and Oberaltaich. The former played an important role since the 9th century, the latter had been the most important manorial lord until its secularisation in 1803. The sinister half displays the arms of the Rainer family of Rain, who ruled the villages Oberpiebing and Kirchmatting in the late Middle Ages.
