White-red bicolour with the lesser arms (i.e. just the shield without other
attributes). Since 1945 Görlitz, situated on the river Neisse, is divided
into a German and a Polish part (Zgorzelec).
Görlitz was a countyfree city (kreisfreie Stadt) until August 2008,
when it became part of the new county of Görlitz (Landkreis Görlitz).
