Bernhardswald Coat of Arms

Shield parted per fess with a single embattlement, above Argent two firs Vert, beneath Gules a plough share Argent.
Meaning:
The firs are representing a wood (German: Wald). They are thus canting and furthermore alluding to the location in the Bavarian Forest. The embattlement is a representation of a few castles in the current municipality, e.g. Kürn, Hauzendorf, Bernhardswald and Adlmannstein. The plough share is stressing the rural character. The tinctrues are those of the Paulsdorfer family, who ruled the Lordship of Kürn until 1623. They held also the local cognisance and had been important manorial lords.
