Shield Argent, issuant from base Vert linden of the same, in front of the tree a wolf passant Sable, in chief an impending eagle Gules.
Meaning:
The eagle is symbolising the independence of the city and the direct rule of the Margraves of Brandenburg. The city's name was considered to be of Slavic origin, meaning: "Go away wolf!" The wolf is also symbolising paganism and the linden Christianity.
