Beutelsbach Coat of Arms

Shield Or parted by a chevron of alternating triangles of Gules and Argent, in base a sinister facing hermit ibis Sable armed Gules.
Meaning:
The hermit ibis (Latin: Geronticus eremita) is called ";Uttenschwalbe", a swallow in German blazon. It is however painted as stork, swan (in this case) of cormorant. It is considered to be a Waldrapp (English: hermit ibis). The species died out in Central Europe. It had also been the heraldic animal of the Barons of Closen, local rulers and owners of the local cognisance between the 16th and 18th century in Beutelsbach. The chevron is taken from the amrs of the Cistercian Fürstenzell Abbey, to which the local parish belonged since 1447.
