Mahlberg Coat of Arms

Shield Azure, issuant from base a 6-fold mount Or, in chief two impending 6-point stars Argent in fess.
Meaning:
Mahlberg had been a royal city since 1230, the German kings granted it to the Lords of Geroldseck in 1312 as an imperial fiefdom (German: Reichslehen). Being a condominium of Geroldeck and Baden, it became completely a possession of Baden in 1771. The arms are neither affiliated with the empire nor with the de facto rulers. The pattern is known from seal prints since 1477. First the mount had been 5-fold, later a simple triplemount. The mount (German: Berg) is considered to be a canting element. The stars are probably just local symbols, maybe they were also alluding to the divided rule in the past.
