Röthenbach Coat of Arms

Shield parted per pale of Gules and Argent, over all a broad bend wavy Azure, charged on heart point with a millwheel Or with eight paddles.
Meaning:
The blue bend wavy is a representation of the Röthenbach, a creek and confluence of the Pegnitz River. Together with the millwheel it is alluding to hydropower. The wheel is also reminding on a local watermill, which was first mentioned in 1311 and is considered to be the core of the whole settlement. The imperial tinctures red and white are symbolising a local imperial estate, to which Röthenbach belonged. They had also been the tinctures of the former imperial banner of St. George.
