Burgheim Coat of Arms

Shield Argent, on top of a base Vert a throughout embattled wall Gules masoned Sable topped by an embattled tower Gules with window Argent.
Meaning:
Embnattled wall and tower are canting and representing the local castle (German: Burg), which had been finished in the 12th century by the Counts of Lechsgemünd-Graisbach on the local church hill. Burgheim was first mentioned as a market town in 1326. Seal prints are known since 1344. All of them displayed the current pattern without changes until the end of the 18th century. Due to a Petra Sancta Code on a local seal from 1837 the castle had been silver on a blue shield. These are the tinctures of Bayern and of the Counts of Graisbach, local rulers until 1342, as well. The current tinctures prevailed since the 20th century.
