Aresing Coat of Arms

Shield paly of three, at dexter Azure a grain ear Or, in centre Argent a pale wavy Azure, at sinister Azure a sword Or in pale.
The three parts of the shield are representing the former villages of Weham, Sonnenham and Bauerngasse. The grain ear is taken from the personal arms of Johann Michael Sailer, who had been Bishop of Regensburg between 1829 and 1832. He was born 1751 in Aresing, renewed the ecclesiastical life in Bayern and was teacher and friend of King Ludwig I of Bayern. The central part is a representation of the valley of the Weilach River. The sword is an attribute of St. Martin, the local patron saint.
