Coat of arms

Description of coat of arms:
The shield is divided per pale. The dexter side shows in a golden(=yellow) field a half red 8-point star. The sinister side shows in a silver(=white) field a half red heraldic rose seeded and barbed golden(=yellow).
Meaning:
According to source the coat of arms shows one half of the arms of the counts of Sternberg(star), who gained city rights to the village in 1357, and one half of the arms of the barons of Lippe(rose), who overtook the city from Sternberg in 14th century.
