Schwörstadt Coat of Arms

Shield parted per pale, at dexter parted per fess of Sable and Or two annulets in counterchanged tinctures, at sinister Argent a lion rampant double queued Gules, crowned Or.
Meaning:
The dexter half displays the family arms of the Lords of Schönau, the dexter half those of the Lordship of Hachberg-Sausenberg. Schwörstadt was established by a few mergers between 1924 and 1971. The former municipalities had been Oberschwörstadt, Niederschwörstadt, Dossenbach and Niederdossenbach. Both Schwörstadts belonged to Austria and had been an Austrian fiefdom of the Lords of Schönau since 1608. Niederdossenbach had been a fiefdom of the Margraves of Hachberg-Sausenberg and since 1628 part of the Lordship of Schönau-Schwörstadt. The Margraves of Hachberg-Sausenberg and since 1503 the Margraves of Baden had been rulers of Dossenbach.

Banner and arms were approved on 18 June 1964 by Minister of Interior of Baden-Württemberg, published in GABl 398/1964. The arms were adopted in 1929 by the municipalities after the merger of both Schwörstadts.
