Coat of Arms

Shield parted per pale, at dexter Azure four crosslets patty Argent, at sinister Argent three pales Gules, over all an inverted inescutcheon Vert fimbriated Argent and charged with a basilica Argent.
Meaning:
The silver crosses are taken from the arms of the Lords of Nassau-Hadamar, the three red pales are taken from the arms of the Counts of Wied-Runkel. Both families historically ruled the current municipality. The four crosses are also symbolising the four former municipalities of Heckholzhausen, Niedertiefenbach, Obertiefenbach and Schupbach, which formed the municipality on 30 December 1970. The inversed inescutcheon is represents the former basilica of Our Lady of Help (Maria Hilf) of the local monastery and is partially seen as canting, Beselich resembles "basilica", as the original basilica does no longer exist. The inescutcheon is shown inverted to symbolise a boundary stone, as such a stone existed in the monastery and separated the possessions of the two counties. The green colour is representing the local forests.
The arms were officially approved on 18 January 1979.
