Rugendorf Coat of Arms

Shield Azure a unicorm rampant Argent, in dexter base a heraldic rose Or barbed Argent.
Meaning:
Meaning: The unicorn is taken from the family arms of the Barons of Waldenfels, who built the local parish church around 1550 and the neighbouring local castle a bit later. The castle was acquired by the Bishopric of Bamberg in 1628, transformed to a granary in 1727 and is nowadays a residential building. The rose is taken from the arms of the Barons of Guttenberg, who lost their possessions in Rugendorf in the 18th century and had to cede them to the bishopric.
