Breitbrunn Coat of Arms

Shield parted by a line of partition, consisting of a triangle wavy at dexter and a triangle at sinister, above Azure a heraldic rose Or seeded and barbed Argent, beneath Argent at dexter a millstone Sable, at sinister a pellet charged with a cross crosslet Argent.
Meaning:
The current municipality was established in 1978 by a merger of Breitbrunn proper and Lussberg including Neubrunn and Hermannsberg. The triangles are referring to stone, well and mountain in the names of the former municipalities. The rose is taken from the family arms of the Barons of Guttenberg. The millstone is alluding to the production of millstones in the past. The pellet, a black heraldic disc, with cross is representing the Veitenstein Cave near Lussberg. The Veitenstein is a needle of sandstone with a height of 10 meters. It is supposed to be a pagan place of worship. At its base there is a cave with old signs and inscriptions. Due to a legend the cave was populated by dwarfs.
