Coat of Arms

Shield bendy of seven of Argent and Gules, superimposed by an embowed chapé Azure, charged with a tower Argent and issuant from base, flanked by two pairs of hammer and mallet.
Meaning:
Stadler 1967 describes in p.81 different arms approved in 1952. In 1967 a flag was in preparation, but I have no information, whether this project was realised. The new arms probably were approved together with the current flag in 1987. The bendy background probably is alluding to the Lords of Hattstein and the tower may be part of Hattstein, also known as Reifenberg, built in the late 12th century and today in ruins. Hammer and mallet are usually symbolising mining.
