Brühl Coat of Arms

Shield Azure, a horseshoe Argent.
Meaning:
A horseshoe had been a local symbol in many municipalities of the area in the 18th century. As such it found its way into village seals and local court seals. In case of Brühl it appeared on a village seal from 1704. The arms are based on the oldest seal and the tinctures are those of the Wittelsbach kin.

According to Stadler the arms were approved in 1900 by the Grand Duchy of Baden, the banner in 1955 by the state government of Baden-Württemberg. According to Stefan Schwoon the banner was approved on 20 August 1960 by Minister of Interior of Baden-Württemberg, published in GABl 3/1961.
