Haidmühle Coat of Arms

Shield parted by a fess wavy Argent, above Gules an upper demi-millwheel Or, beneath Azure hammer and mallet Or in saltire.
Meaning:
Firmian´s mill, located on the banks of the Kalte Moldau River (= Cold Moldau) and built in the 18th century had been the core of the village. In 1838 a hammer mill was added, where iron was forged and tools for agriculture and crafts had been made. Business closed in 1863 due to economic problems. Haidmühle changed to a village of lumbermen and sawmills. Millwheel and fess wavy are referring to the different mills alongside the river, hammer and mallet are referring to ironwork. The tinctures blue and white are those of Bayern, red and white those of the Bishopric of Passau.
