Coat of Arms

Shield parted per fess, above Or three connected annulets Sable at dexter and hammer and mallet Sable at sinister, beneath Sable a throughout cross gyronny Or.
The annulets are symbolising the merger of the municipalities of Ellers, Opperz and Neustadt in 1928. Name giver of the new municipality however became the forestral district of Neuhof. Hammer and mallet are symbolising the potash mining in the area. The cross is taken from the arms of Fulda in different tinctures, as the area to the Abbey of Fulda. The arms were approved in 1963 by Minister of Interior of Hesse.
