Röttenbach Coat of Arms

Shield Azure a carp Or; mantle Argent, at dexter charged with a cross bottony Gules, at sinister with a demi-lion Azure, crowned, armed and tongued Or, superimposed by two bars Gules and issuant from sinister flanch.
Meaning:
Since earliest times Röttenbach had been a possession of the Sewers of Pommersfelden. They built parish church and castle. After the Röttenbach line had died out in1557, the village was inherited by the Pommersfelden line. In 1610 the village was pawned to the Marshals of Pappenheim. The crowned lion with two bars is taken from the arms of the Pommersfelden line of the sewers. The cross is the attribute of St. Maurice, the local patron saint. The carp is alluding to the breeding of fish in Aischgrund Village.
