The flag's ratio is 3:5. It is a green-white-green vertical triband with stripes of equal width. The coat of arms is in the centre of the flag, exceeding the white stripe.

Description of coat of arms:
Shield Argent, a linden Vert with an inescutcheon in its centre, the inescutcheon is Or two bars Gules, base Vert charged with the lindn's roots Argent.
Meaning:
The municipality's name is derived from "linden". The tree is thus canting. The shield displays the arms of the Counts of Oldenburg, the former rulers.
