Pösing Coat of Arms

Shield Azure a fess wavy Argent charged with a barrulet dancetty Gules, in chief a coronet Or, in base a biface of the same.
Meaning:
The fess wavy is a representation of the Regen River. The coronet is alluding to the fact that Pösing had been mentioned as a royal estate in 896. Emperor Arnulf of Kärnten donated the estates to the church of Roding. The coronet furthermore is an attribute of St. Mary as Celestial Queen, as the estates were given to an old chapel in Regensburg, dedicated to her. The barrulet dancetty is taken from the arms of the Murach kin, however in counterchanged tinctures. The family also owned estates in the village. The biface, also called a handaxe, is the most important find, excavated in 1961.
