Garching Coat of Arms

Shield parted per fess of Gules and Azure, parted by a throughout bridge Argent with three pylons and a cross patty issuant in centre.
Meaning:
Garching had been a border crossing between the Archbishopric of Salzburg and the Duchy of Bayern. The local bridge crossing the Alz River had been the shortest way between Salzburg and its exclave Mühldorf upon Inn. Both states had been also the most important local manorial lords until 1803. The basic tinctures are also alluding to them as follows: red and white representing Salzburg, blue and white representing Bayern.
