Wettringen Coat of Arms

Issuant from base a triplemount Vert charged with a bar wavy Argent, above an impending castle Gules with two embattled towers, flanked at dexter by an impending key sable in pale and at sinister by an impending sword Sable in pale.
Meaning:
The triplemount is representing Frankenhöhe, a local mountain, the bar wavy is representing the Tauber River. The castle is alluding to the Free Imperial City of Rothenburg upon Tauber, which owned parts of the village between 1379 and 1803. Key and sword are the attributes of St. Peter and St. Paul, patron saints of the local parish church.
